2 years agoSan Francisco 49ers tight end Ross Dwelley led the team with three catches for 42 yards in Thursday's 17-0 loss to the Houston Texas in the preseason finale. The 27-year-old was targeted three times, including on a 30-yard dime from backup QB Brock Purdy he caught and held onto after taking a hit over the middle of the field. While the veteran tight end has made some plays in the preseason, Dwelley does not have fantasy value in 2022. He is essential for the 49ers blocking schemes, however. He occasionally works from the backfield as a fullback, filling in as the starting fullback when Kyle Juszczyk missed four games in 2019. Dwelley will look to contribute to the 49ers' offense in the regular season opener against the Bears on September 12.--Mitchell Blatt - RotoBaller
