2 years agoSan Diego Padres outfielder Juan Soto (back) is not in the starting lineup Friday against the Kansas City Royals. Padres manager Bob Melvin was hopeful that the 23-year-old superstar would be able to return for the start of their weekend series after missing the last two games with mid-back tightness, but clearly Soto isn't feeling well enough to play quite yet. The Padres' big trade deadline addition has slashed .286/.438/.460 with two homers over his first 81 plate appearances with his new team. While he should be able to avoid an IL stint, fantasy managers will want to monitor this situation closely as the weekend progresses.--Matt Garon - RotoBaller
