2 years agoSan Francisco 49ers general manager John Lynch had good things to say about second-year running back Trey Sermon. "He worked incredibly hard and had a tremendous offseason. Hasn't showed up in the games, but throughout training camp has been one of our best players," Lynch said. It's a strong indication that Sermon will make the 53-man roster out of training camp, despite recent reports that suggest he could be on the roster bubble behind Elijah Mitchell, Jeff Wilson Jr., rookie Tyrion Davis-Price and JaMycal Hasty. The 23-year-old disappointed in his rookie season when he had an opportunity for considerable playing time in a backfield riddled by injuries, but the Niners don't appear ready to give up on him yet. Sermon should only be stashed in dynasty/keeper formats for now.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
