Sam Howell Shows Poise As Starter
2 years agoWashington Commanders quarterback Sam Howell completed 24 of 35 passes for 280 yards and one touchdown along with 62 rushing yards in Saturday's preseason loss to the Ravens. The rookie quarterback was able to start the entire game for the Commanders, as the team was set on starting third-string players and roster hopefuls. The former Tar Heel's statistics could've been even better, as unforced errors continuously kept the Commanders out of the end zone until the fourth quarter. Although Howell was making his start against fringe roster players on the Ravens defense, he still impressed with his ability to lead the offense with his dual-threat ability. The fifth-round pick obviously doesn't offer an immediate impact for fantasy as a third-stringer, but he should continue to be an interesting piece in deep dynasty leagues.
