Brett Baty Unavailable Tuesday With Minor Thumb Injury
2 years agoNew York Mets third baseman Brett Baty (thumb) was unavailable to pinch hit in Tuesday's 4-3 loss to the Dodgers due to a minor thumb injury he sustained over the weekend, per MLB.com's Anthony DiComo. The injury also explains his absence from the starting lineup, but it sounds as though he is merely day-to-day. The 22-year-old prospect has gotten off to a slow start since his call-up, slashing .184/.244/.342 with two home runs and five RBI in 42 plate appearances. He may not offer a ton of fantasy value right now in redraft leagues, but he is still worth plenty of attention down the stretch for fantasy managers in dynasty leagues.
