Bounce-Back Season May Be Tough For Robbie Anderson
2 years agoCarolina Panthers wide receiver Robbie Anderson had a precipitous drop in production last year after signing a two-year, $29.5 million extension. Head coach Matt Rhule said that when Anderson was effective in 2020, he was stretching the field horizontally and vertically with his top-end speed. The Panthers want to get back to that under new offensive coordinator Ben McAdoo, but a healthy Christian McCaffrey will take targets away, as will newcomer Laviska Shenault Jr. The Athletic's Joe Person writes that it's tough to see Anderson matching his numbers from his breakout two years ago when he caught 95 of 136 targets for a career-high 1,096 yards and three touchdowns in 16 games. The 29-year-old is going undrafted in most 12-team leagues.
