Sean Manaea Allows Eight Runs Versus Dodgers
2 years agoSan Diego Padres starting pitcher Sean Manaea struggled on Saturday night as his club was beaten by the Dodgers 12-1. His night couldn't have started much worse after Mookie Betts led off the first with a triple and then Trea Turner followed that up with a two-run shot before he could even record an out. Manaea would go on to allow two more homers in the ball game as he finished the night giving up eight runs on nine hits over 4 1/3 IP. The lefty walked one and struck out four as he now sits with a 140/46 K/BB and an underachieving 5.27 ERA and 1.36 WHIP through 138 1/3 IP. He'll get a rematch versus the Dodgers next weekend where managers may want to keep him benched since he's struggled to a 9.21 ERA over his last six starts.
