Packers Hopeful Christian Watson Will Play In Week 1
2 years agoGreen Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur said that he's hopeful that rookie wide receiver Christian Watson (knee) will be able to play in the Week 1 regular season opener on Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings. No. 1 wideout Allen Lazard isn't a lock to go, which would open up a much bigger role for Watson alongside veterans Sammy Watkins and Randall Cobb. Fantasy managers will have a better idea of Watson's status as the practice week unfolds. But even if Watson is active and Lazard is not, Watson could be the team's No. 4 behind fellow rookie Romeo Doubs. The 23-year-old has plenty of long-term upside in dynasty leagues, but he missed crucial practice time this summer due to injury and isn't a recommended fantasy starter for Week 1.
