Darren Waller Says He's Ready For Week 1
2 years agoLas Vegas Raiders tight end Darren Waller (hamstring) plans to play in the Week 1 regular season opener on Sunday against the division-rival Los Angeles Chargers. Waller returned to practice last week after dealing with a hamstring issue in training camp. The 29-year-old was also angling for a contract extension this summer, which was part of the reason he missed a lot of practice. The time missed at camp, along with the addition of All-Pro receiver Davante Adams, cause Waller to slip a bit in fantasy drafts after his disappointing 2021 campaign. There's a chance that he could get off to a bit of a slow start after having to learn a new offense under head coach Josh McDaniels, but Waller still has top-five fantasy potential at his position over the course of the season.
