J.C. Jackson Not Expected To Play In Week 1
2 years agoLos Angeles Chargers cornerback J.C. Jackson (ankle) is not expected to play in the Week 1 regular season opener on Sunday against the division-rival Las Vegas Raiders. Jackson wasn't on the practice field on Monday. The 26-year-old had surgery on his ankle in the middle of August, and he's not quite ready for the start of the season in his first year in LA. It's good news for Raiders No. 1 receiver Davante Adams in his first game with the team, as he likely would have drawn Jackson in coverage. With the Bolts playing the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 2 next Thursday, it might be tough for Jackson to return by then. The Chargers defense/special teams has plenty of upside in 2022, but they may not be the greatest play early in the season against two tough opponents.
