Josh Jung To Make Rangers Debut Friday
2 years agoTexas Rangers third base prospect Josh Jung will be recalled from the minors and will make his major league debut for the team on Friday against the Toronto Blue Jays, according to sources. A torn left labrum in his shoulder in spring training kept Jung from beginning the year in the major leagues, but he'll wind up debuting this year anyway, albeit a lot later than most expected. The team's top prospect, per MLB Pipeline, hit a combined .267/.323/.542 with an .865 OPS, nine home runs, 29 RBI and 18 runs scored in 30 games for the Rookie-level club and Triple-A Round Rock this year. Although the 24-year-old won't have much time to make a fantasy impact for the rest of 2022, he's deserving of a pickup in almost all leagues if you need a power boost. Jung is likely to play regularly to close things out.
