George Kittle Could Be Held Out In Week 1
2 years agoSan Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle's groin injury is "not good," and contingency plans are in place in case he's ruled out for Week 1 against the Chicago Bears, according to sources. One source characterized Kittle's injury as serious enough that it would be best for him to miss a game. The 28-year-old missed practice on Wednesday and should be considered very questionable or the season opener. Fantasy managers will need to have a backup plan in place, but the good news is the Niners play early on Sunday. If Kittle is active, he's a must-start in fantasy. We'll hopefully have a better idea of whether he can play later this week. If Kittle is forced to sit out, Tyler Kroft would serve as the top pass-catching tight end for the 49ers, while wideouts Deebo Samuel Brandon Aiyuk should be targeted heavily.
