2 years agoNew York Yankees left-hander Nestor Cortes (groin) is listed as the team's scheduled starter on Thursday against the Minnesota Twins. He'll be activated at some point before the start from the 15-day injured list after he landed on the IL on Aug. 25 with a left groin strain. The 27-year-old southpaw didn't make a minor league rehab start while he was away from the team, but he did throw a 45-pitch live batting practice session last weekend. He was a first-time All-Star in 2022 and has gone 9-4 with a career-low 2.68 ERA (3.40 FIP), a 0.96 WHIP and a 133:30 K:BB in 131 innings over his 23 starts, but he could be on a strict pitch count in his return to the rotation on Thursday, making him a risky fantasy play.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
