Ravens, Lamar Jackson Cannot Reach Deal On Extension
2 years agoBaltimore Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta said that no deal was reached with quarterback Lamar Jackson by Friday's deadline to come to a long-term contract extension. Talks will continue after the 2022 season. Jackson will play this season on the final year of his rookie deal instead. The 25-year-old signal-caller will become a free agent next March, and the Ravens could decide to slap the franchise tag on him at that time. Contract issues aside, Jackson will look to bounce back this year after finishing the season last year on the sidelines due to an ankle injury. The dual-threat QB is a top-five fantasy option at his position and will have a nice matchup to kick things off in Week 1 against the New York Jets.
