Antonio Gibson Leads Commanders In Receiving
2 years agoWashington Commanders running back Antonio Gibson had 14 carries for 58 yards and seven receptions for 72 yards in Sunday's win versus the Jacksonville Jaguars. The 24-year-old tuned out the doubters as his 130 total yards significantly influenced Washington's first win of the season. Gibson's heavier use as a receiver could spell good things to come once Brian Robinson returns to the lineup and steals a portion of the rushing share. Until then, the third-year pro will have a reasonably high ceiling due to his grip on Washington's backfield. Next week, the Commanders are facing off against the Detroit Lions, who just allowed 126 rushing yards to Philadelphia Eagles running backs. Gibson could be in line for another big performance in Week 2.
