Javonte Williams Catches Double-Digit Passes In Week 1
2 years agoDenver Broncos running back Javonte Williams was out-carried seven to 12 by backfield mate Melvin Gordon III in Monday night's Week 1 loss to the Seattle Seahawks, but Williams more than made up for it by catching a team-high 11 passes for 65 yards on 12 targets. He gained 43 yards on his seven carries, including a costly goal-line fumble at the goal line. Fantasy managers may still be frustrated by the presence of Gordon stealing touches from the 22-year-old second-year back, but quarterback Russell Wilson should still give Williams a high weekly floor as a high-end RB2/low-end RB1. Williams is an elite tackle-breaker and looked very explosive to open the season. In Week 2 against the Texans, he's an absolute must-start against a defense that nearly allowed 200 rushing yards to the Colts' Jonathan Taylor.
