Joe Ryan Pulled After Seven No-Hit Innings
2 years agoMinnesota Twins starting pitcher Joe Ryan hadn't allowed a hit through seven innings against the Kansas City Royals Tuesday, but he was not permitted to return to the mound for the eighth inning. Ryan walked two batters and struck out nine on 106 pitches, a number which was deemed too close to his season-high of 110 to continue the no-hit bid. On the season, Ryan has a 3.83 ERA and 1.11 WHIP with 133 strikeouts in 129 1/3 innings. He hasn't been the breakout fantasy option many predicted, but he's still put forth a very competent campaign.
