Ezequiel Tovar Hits First Homer In Triple-A
2 years agoColorado Rockies shortstop prospect Ezequiel Tovar went 2-for-5 with a solo home run in his second game for Triple-A Albuquerque. Tovar had an impressive showing in Double-A this season with a .318 batting average to go along with 14 homers, 48 RBI and 17 stolen bases. That performance earned him a late season promotion to Triple-A. The 21-year-old has made big strides over the past two seasons and has shown some solid pop from the shortstop position. Although it's unlikely he makes his big-league debut this season, Tovar has a true chance of breaking camp with the Rockies next year. With his ability to make good contact and hit for power at the shortstop position with his future home of Coors Field, Tovar should be on the radar in all formats entering next season.
