NBA Fantasy Shopper: DFS Lineup Picks for DraftStreet
PG: George Hill ($10,333): Hill has continued to be a steady force for the Pacers this season. With modest averages of just 10.6 points, 3.7 assists and 3.4 rebounds on the year, he does not climb onto a lot of fantasy rosters. However, for a mere 10% of the cap tonight, Hill gets to face off with one of the worst defenses in the NBA. The Lakers are currently 29th in the NBA allowing opponents to dish out 25.2 assists per game and score 106.1 points a game. This means Hill should have a solid game, and don’t be surprised if he matches his near triple double last week in this one.
SG: Nick Young ($10,349): This pick will take some faith. Young faces off against by far the best defensive team in the NBA tonight as Paul George and Lance Stephenson will be all over the Lakers high scoring wing. With that said, Young has been very good over the past two weeks, averaging 20.7 points and 3 rebounds a game in that stretch. He has shot the ball at a 45% clip which has helped boost his scoring in a hurry. A huge stinker is possible but Young always enjoys a challenge so a big game should not come as a surprise.
SF: Chandler Parsons ($13,882): If you take out his last game in which he has just 11 points and 5 rebounds (which was a back to back against Memphis), Parsons has been on a tear. In the three games prior to the Grizzlies game, he had averaged 28 points, 8 rebounds and 2.3 assists. This comes on a hot shooting stretch as he shot 52% over his last four contests. His matchup tonight is also helped by the absence of Kawhi Leonard who is the Spurts top defensive wing; Parsons should be able to exploit Marco Belinelli for a big game.
PF: Tim Duncan ($15,630): The always overlooked Duncan has kept up his solid play for the Spurs. He has posted double-doubles in three of his past four games and six of his past 11. He is also on a streak of six games with at least one block. Houston generally likes to push the pace which should result in a high scoring game with Duncan being the biggest winner on the Spurs side. Look for yet another double-double and close to 40 fantasy points.
C: Andre Drummond ($15,419): Coming off of his worst game of the season last game, Drummond should be motivated to start another double-double streak. Prior to his 4 point and 6 rebound stinker against Dallas, Drummond had 11 straight double-doubles including a 20-20 game last Friday against the Pelicans. He has a prime matchup tonight against one of the smallest frontcourts in the NBA in Orlando which is not only one of the worst rebounding units, but also allows opponents to block an average of 6 shots a game. A double-double with 5-6 blocks seems about right for the Pistons big man tonight.
U: J.R. Smith ($9,894): In the shadow of a red hot run by Carmelo Anthony, Smith has returned to fantasy relevance with eight straight double figure scoring games for New York. Over the last two weeks he is averaging a respectable 15 points, 3.4 rebounds and 2.3 assists a game. Smith has taken advantage of teams focus on Anthony to once again find his rhythm, shooting a solid 44% over that stretch. He should also benefit from the Celtics top defensive guard, Avery Bradley, out for this game. For a low price, Smith should put up another good scoring night.
