Fantasy Basketball Frontcourt: Waiver Wire Pickups for Week 20

Now that we are past the NBA trade deadline, new players are finding new roles making them solid late season additions to your fantasy basketball team. Let's take a look at some frontcourt players that can be useful off the waiver wire:

Waiver Wire Pickups for Frontcourt

Frontcourt Players to Pick Up:

Matt Barnes: Barnes has always been viewed as a fringe fantasy option in most leagues. His ability to contribute across the board makes him a solid option, but his inability to dominate any one category has always limited his value.  With injuries mounting in Clipper land, Barnes has seen a solid bump to 33 minutes a game over the past two weeks.  In that timeframe he is producing a 17.3 points, 5.2 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.0 steal and 3.3 three pointers made a night line.  This was topped off by a huge double-double Thursday against the hapless Lakers.  With Jared Dudley, Jamal Crawford and J.J. Redick on the injured list, Barnes should continue to see big minutes on the Clipper wing.

Marcus Morris: For most of the year it seems like the Morris twins have taken turns being the more viable fantasy option in Phoenix.  This week it appears to be Marcus’ turn as he has four straight double figure scoring games.  Marcus is not the rebounder that his brother Markieff is at just 4.1 a game, but is a better shooter as he is averaging 1.3 three pointers made a game on the season.  Morris is only getting 22 minutes a game on the year, but if he keeps up his hot play that number should only go up as the season winds down.

Frontcourt Players to Keep an Eye on:

Kyle O’Quinn: O’Quinn has taken over Glen Davis’ role in Orlando and had put up very similar type numbers.  In the last two weeks he is averaging 8.5 points, 7.4 rebounds, 1.4 blocks and 1 steal a night.  If Nikola Vucevic were to get hurt those numbers could skyrocket in a hurry.

Xavier Henry: Henry is another Laker player that is back from injury and because of Mike D’Antoni’s offense, has fantasy potential.  He has scored in double figures in back to back games and seems to be working himself back into the lineup.  If he can manage to up his minutes to around 25 a game he may be worth a late season flyer.
