Recommended DFS plays for NBA action on 4/2:
PG: John Wall ($17,299): Wall has been a far different player at home this year as opposed to on the road. He has scored over 20 points in five straight home games while shooting over 50% in three of them. Along with that, Wall has been an assist machine of lat, with 8.4 assists a game over the past two weeks. Combine his offensive prowess with nearly 3 rebounds and 2 steals a night, and it’s easy to see why Wall is a top option tonight.
SG: Darren Collison ($10,565): The Clippers have been absolutely decimated by injuries this season, and Collison has been the prime beneficiary. With J.J. Redick and Jamal Crawford out, Collison is tasked with being the top scorer on the wing. In his past two games, he has played 84 minutes and posted 39 points, 12 assists, 8 rebounds and 5 steals. He will have a tough matchup tonight against the athletic Eric Bledsoe, but given the amount of time he is on the floor, this price feels like it is far too low.
SF: Tyreke Evans ($14,854): If you are a frequent reader of my blogs, you know my love for the fantasy value of Evans. The Pelicans do-everything wing has been an absolute monster since the injury to Jrue Holiday. Over the last 15 days, he is putting up 18.3 points, 6.8 assists, 4.5 rebounds and 2.0 steals. He has been a little under par the last two nights, but tonight with Anthony Davis back healthy and a great matchup in Denver, Evans should be a threat for the top point-earner of the night. In their matchup in December, he torched the Nuggets for 19 points, 10 assists and 7 rebounds, expect something similar tonight.
PF: Amir Johnson ($11,862): Nothing in the last three games would make you think that Johnson is a good play tonight. In those three games, he managed only 16 points, 17 rebounds and 2 assists. However, he is getting over 33 minutes a game in the last two weeks, and he's such a force on defense that he can contribute great fantasy value with little to no scoring. Tonight, he gets a matchup with a Houston team that is without Dwight Howard and could also be missing the ailing Terrence Jones. Johnson should be able to use his athleticism against a team that did play Omri Casspi at power forward and a bit at center last night. He may only have 10 points, but look for double-digit rebounds and a few steals and blocks.
C: Spencer Hawes ($10,840): After a blistering start to his Cavs career, Hawes has slowed down considerably. However, with the injury to Anderson Varejao, Hawes will see a boost in minutes and thus in fantasy value. After playing just 22 and 24 minutes in back-to-back games last week, Hawes saw 33 against the Pacers in their last game. He will have a big matchup tonight with Nikola Vucevic and will be counted on to produce big on the glass. Hawes may be in line for his first double-double since March 14th in tonight’s game.
