BALLER MOVE: Continue Scouting
ANALYSIS: Now that the season is underway, we know which players have made the opening day rosters and Jonathan Schoop is among those surprises. Schoop is primarily a second baseman, but can play third base as well. The one main thing to be aware of with Schoop is that he will most likely be demoted once Machado comes off the DL unless he is hitting the cover off of the ball. Schoop can be fantasy relevant if he gets consistently playing time - he had 14 HR in the minors last season and playing in Camden Yards that number should increase. He will hit for an average in the .280 range and provide solid power for a second baseman. Schoop is off to a slow start with just 1 hit in 7 AB, but he can potentially make an impact in very deep leagues. In NL-only leagues, he should be owned.
