Eric Young Jr. (OF, NYM) - Waiver Wire Analysis

BALLER MOVE: Add in Deeper Leagues

ANALYSIS: Young was off to a slow start at the plate, slashing a measly .154/.233/.192 through his first 30 plate appearances before Thursday night.  At Turner Field, Young went 4-for-5 with 4 Runs score and 3 SB - for a player like him this is the equivalent of a 3 HR game.  Since Young's only significant value comes in the stolen base category, his inability to get on base early could be a problem for fantasy owners unless Thursday's game is an indication of things to come. Numbers from recent years suggest that Young can steal upwards of 40 bases if he can get on base at anything resembling a consistent rate. For that reason alone, he's worth considering in rotisserie leagues, but only if the league is deep. I would hesitate to add Young in any head-to-head leagues. Starting Young may score you some stolen bases, but your other offensive numbers might suffer in the mean time.
