BALLER MOVE: Add in Deep Leagues if You're Power Starved
ANALYSIS: Mike Olt is similar to Juan Francisco in that he has crushed minor league pitching (28 HR and an OPS over .880 in back-to-back years) to go along with high strikeout rates that have been cause for concern. Olt has less of a sample-size at the major league level, but so far it hasn’t been great. He is hitting for power with 8 HR (a pace that would result in 33 HR) but otherwise his numbers make him look like a worse version of Adam Dunn with more strikeouts, fewer walks and a worse batting average. Its worth noting he hit below .200 in the minors last year so there is no real reason to expect his average to go above .220 in the majors. If you don’t mind watching your batting average plummet, Olt will certainly get you home runs. Other than that Olt is not an ideal pickup and your best bet would be to find an owner who assumes the average will get considerably better. If you are extremely power starved, Olt is a decent deep league pickup when he has good matchups.
