Daily Fantasy Leagues - FanDuel Lineup Picks (5/12)
With only five games on the docket tonight, we highlight five players whom you should consider for your FanDuel lineups tonight.
P: Wily Peralta ($6,900): Peralta should be owned in a ton of leagues tonight as he is massively underpriced. Not only has Peralta posted a season ERA of 2.05 with nearly a 4.0 strikeout-to-walk ratio, but he has a great matchup. His opponent, the Braves, is last in baseball in runs scored and sixth in strikeouts. For a pitcher who has not allowed more than three earned runs in any of his eight starts this year, that is a recipe for success.
IF: Victor Martinez ($4,100): On a team that features Miguel Cabrera, it is Martinez who has been by far the Tigers best hitter this season. He has also been on tear of late, hitting .370 with 5 home runs, 8 RBI and 9 runs over the last 15 days. The switch-hitter has a solid matchup against the right-handed Corey Kluber tonight.
IF: Eric Hosmer ($2,700): I would generally never suggest a Royals stack, as they are currently 25th in baseball in runs scored, however they have the best matchup on the board today. Kansas City will face right-hander Scott Carroll, who has gone two straight outings allowing 11 hits and 6 earned runs while striking out just two in each game. Hosmer has only one home run on the year, but has a more-than-respectable .294 average as well as 18 RBI and 17 runs scored. For the price, he is a great play tonight.
OF: Norichika Aoki ($2,600): Our Royals stack continues with their leadoff hitter Norichika Aoki. Like Hosmer, Aoki has not supplied much power this season, but has scored 22 runs and stolen 5 bases. He also has a hit in three straight games. Even though Aoki is a reverse splits player average wise, he has far more power against right-handed pitching, which means that tonight there is a chance that he will launch his first home run of the season. Like Hosmer, the price point is very low for a team that is likely to put up a solid number of runs.
OF: Billy Hamilton ($3,200): It may surprise many, but the pitcher with the second-highest season ERA among today's starters is actually Stephen Strasburg. Even though he has been solid, the Reds may not be a complete "avoid" today. Hamilton has started to find his rhythm recently, as he has a solid .269 average over his last week. Once he finds the base paths, Hamilton is a fantasy monster, with 14 steals and 18 runs scored on the year. He should be a solid play that is owned buy very few of your competitors tonight.
