BALLER MOVE: Add Immediately in Keeper Leagues and Deep Leagues
ANALYSIS: Andrew Heaney is the top prospect in Miami's organization, and for good reason. The 23-year-old has flown through the minor leagues and is set to make his major league debut Thursday, June 19, just two years after being selected ninth overall by the Marlins Marlins. This is as a result of his dominant 2.47 ERA in 76.2 IP between Double-A and Triple-A so far in 2014. He has also racked up an incredible 5.26 K/BB ratio. Heaney is a shutdown lefty who has already developed a legitimate, three-pitch repertoire. He has a plus fastball that tops out around 95 MPH, a lethal slider, and a deceptive changeup - and he mixes them up very well. With Fernandez out for the season, Heaney could slide right into the front end of that rotation. It's hard to say whether or not his first stint in the majors will be permanent, but he certainly has the tools to remain with the Marlins for good. Fantasy owners should jump on the opportunity to snatch up the best lefty pitching prospect in baseball, especially in keeper leagues.
