BALLER MOVE: Add in Deep Leagues
ANALYSIS: Need to bolster your rotation a bit? Kyle Gibson just delivered the best performance of his young career (1 H, 0 ER, 7 IP, 8 K) in a tough-luck loss against the Red Sox. He's now gone seven innings with 0 ER in each of his last three outings giving up nine hits in total, and it looks like the former first rounder might be starting to put the pieces together. Gibson's not going to be your strikeout guy, but his current 4.99 K/9 should improve based on minor league numbers, and he has 16 Ks over his last 21 IP. He's got a nasty slider (that link is from his rookie debut mind you), leans on his two-seamer more than his four-seam fastball, but improving his changeup to add to his arsenal may be what is helping him take that next step. His low BABIP suggests he may be a getting a bit lucky, but he still remains a solid pickup for most 12+ team deep leagues and all AL-Only Leagues of course. He's also worth a look in shallower leagues as a streamer where managers are struggling with their starters.
