BALLER MOVE: Add in Very Deep / NL-Only Leagues
ANALYSIS: OK so Padres pitchers aren't the most sexy pickups, we get it, but Jesse Hahn has put together two dominant outings back to back. Granted the first was against the Amazins, in which anybody who starts against them lately looks like a Cy-Young candidate, but they were also just his second and third major league starts. Hahn has the opportunity to stick around in the rotation if he continues this success, (Robbie Erlin nursing a sore elbow and Tim Stauffer returning to the bullpen) giving the former high school teammate of Matt Harvey some viability as a waiver wire pickup. Currently boasting a 2.16 ERA with a 1.14 WHIP, his low BABIP, and high LOB% and GB% suggest he may be getting a bit lucky, but his track record in the minors has been pretty impressive. He currently only uses two pitches (fastball/curveball) more than 90% of the time, so you'd like to see him add something to his repertoire, but he'd been working on his slider and curve during the off-season. Fantasy managers in 12+ team leagues could do worse than taking a flier on Hahn (5% Ownership Yahoo) as a streamer, and he needs to be owned in all NL-Only leagues until performance dictates otherwise.
