Daily Fantasy Leagues - FanDuel Lineup Picks (6/26)
P: Jarred Cosart ($6,600): On April 29th, Cosart’s ERA sat at 5.22 for the struggling Astros. As of today, that ERA is down to 3.78 thanks to a solid string of starts. Cosart has had at least eight fantasy points in each of his last 10 games, and he has notched a salty 39 fantasy points over his last three outings. If that wasn’t enough, he gets to face the free-swinging Braves tonight; they're among the league leaders in strikeouts.
C: Devin Mesoraco ($4,400): Sure, his home run streak ended last night, but Mesoraco is clearly locked in right now. His five-game home run streak has gotten him to second in both homers and RBI from the catcher position while also hitting an amazing .320 on the year. Mesoraco is still on a nine-game hitting streak, and indications are that should continue today against the Giants.
1B: Albert Pujols ($3,600): Pujols is one of two great BvP plays of the day. For his career, he is 10-for-19 with three homers against Ricky Nolasco. After a recent hot streak, Pujols has slowed down a bit, with a few hitless games over the last week. But hitting in the middle of an Angels lineup that gets to face Nolasco and his 5.52 ERA, expect a monster game from the former MVP.
2B: Anthony Rendon ($4,000): Rendon is certainly a player who has a ton of boom-or-bust potential. In his past three games, he has two without a hit. He also has two three-hit games in his past five outings. He is currently second in baseball in homers by a second baseman (although he is now playing 3B) with 12. To top it off, a matchup with left-handed Travis Wood only increases his value today.
SS: Alexei Ramirez ($3,000): A player who has seen his price fall recently, the hard-hitting Ramirez is in the middle of a huge power swoon, but he still does have 21 extra base hits this season. Prior to last night, he was on a three-game hitting streak, so he has started to pick his game back up. Shortstop is generally one of the weaker positions on a nightly basis, so getting a player at a reduced price with home run power is always a plus.
3B: Pablo Sandoval ($3,500): BvP play number two is the Kung Fu Panda. Sandoval is a ridiculous 11-for-17 with two homers against Mike Leake. He has been a bit erratic recently with a few negative fantasy point games mixed in with four multi-hit games in his past nine contests. Along with the great mound matchup, Sandoval is also at home where he seems to be more comfortable; consider him a great play today.
OF: Carlos Gomez ($4,200): The absolutely electric Gomez gets a primetime matchup against a rookie pitcher who is struggling to find his bearings in the majors today. Gomez has proven to be one of the best all-around players in baseball this year with 34 extra base hits, 40 RBI and 11 stolen bases. The Brewers got to Friedrich in his first outing to the tune of seven hits and three runs in six innings. They should be even more comfortable tonight facing him for the second time in a week and this time at home.
