BALLER MOVE: Add in All Leagues
ANALYSIS: Tanner Roark is 7-5 with a 2.98 ERA and 1.15 WHIP for the Nationals, so if he is still on your waiver wire (somehow) go get him. Oh you want more reasons to get him? How about the fact that Roark pounds the strike zone and limits his free passes? He is top ten in MLB throwing first pitch strikes 65.4% of the time and since becoming a major league pitcher, he has walked only 5.9% of the batters he has faced which is top 25 in baseball. Except for his most recent start at Wrigley, Roark hasn’t allowed more than 3 earned runs since May 3rd, a streak that covered 9 starts and included a game win streak and an 11 strikeout performance. 10 of his 16 starts this year have been quality starts. Not that bad for somebody that was released by his college and got drafted off of a semi-pro team where he had an ERA over 20? Roark is on one the best pitching staffs in baseball and a team that is making their playoff push, so he should get some favorable matchups while Strasburg and Zimmerman take on the other teams best starters. Look for him to continue to have success in 2014.
