BALLER MOVE: Continue Scouting
ANALYSIS: For the first half of the season, the Yankees have had little to no production at second base between Yangervis Solarte, Brian Roberts and Brendan Ryan. The second half may be different, however, as Robert Refsnyder has been absolutely raking in the minors, with 12 home runs, 46 RBI and a .333/.403/.547 triple slash line in 342 at-bats between Double- and Triple-A. He has also added on eight stolen bases and has scored 58 runs. As we come out of the All-Star break, monitor what the Yankees do with Refsnyder. His call-up seems imminent, and could happen within a week or two of the second half. When he does get the call, he would immediately be worthy of an add in most AL-Only leagues, given the lack of depth at his position. He would also likely play some outfield, giving him added versatility. In mixed leagues, though, you may want to give Refsnyder some time to prove that he has what it takes to remain in the big leagues before adding him to your roster. If he begins to produce at a high level, then he will become a viable fantasy option in most leagues.
