BALLER MOVE: Add in Deep Leagues
ANALYSIS: Chris Coghlan has found a new home in a Chicago Cubs uniform. The 2009 NL Rookie of the Year has found a rebirth on the north side of Chicago. Over the last 30 days, Coghlan has been one of the top hitters in all of baseball. In those 30 days, Coghlan ranks 9th in AVG (.341), 4th in Runs (21), 5th in SLG% (.612) and 27th in RBI (13). All these numbers have been accumulated since he was handed an everyday starting spot in the Cubs outfield. Is it a revival? Who knows, maybe Coghlan found his 2009 stroke or maybe he is just really hot right now. His BABIP over the last 30 days is .379 putting him 19th over that span. He is not just a platoon OF anymore, as a left handed hitter; he is actually hitting .367 vs lefties which is 3rd best in baseball with at least 30 lefty vs lefty at bats. Unless the Cubs move Kris Bryant up to play OF, which is highly unlikely, Coghlan will get his chances for the foreseeable future. Coghlan is still only 29 and he has more HR, R and SB this year already than the last two years combined. If you’re in a deep league or riddled with injuries, give Coghlan a chance while he remains a top option.
