BALLER MOVE: Add in Deep Leagues
ANALYSIS: Last year in 15 games started for the Cardinals, Joe Kelly went 10-5 with a 2.69 ERA, and 1.35 WHIP. Very useful numbers in Fantasy Baseball for the back-end of your rotation. This year started well enough for Kelly, who allowed only 1 run in his first three starts. Unfortunately, he then hit the DL with a hamstring issue and his first start back from the DL was not pretty with only 3 innings pitched and 6 runs allowed. In a very limited sample size that all has led to a 3.44 ERA and 1.53 WHIP, with most of those stats being inflated due to the one bad start after coming off the DL, and lack of sample size to absorb that start. The Cardinals organization seems to know how to develop young pitchers, and Kelly could be one of them. He is not a huge strikeout potential guy, but if you need help in ERA/WHIP he's worth a look. Right now Kelly is only 18 % owned in Yahoo leagues. That number seems like it should be higher to me.
