BALLER MOVE: Add in All Leagues
ANALYSIS: The fact that Tanner Roark is only 61 % owned is downright criminal. Sure he had back to back hiccups on June 27th and July 4th, where he gave up 4 runs to the light hitting Cubs, but otherwise he has been an ERA and WHIP saint. On the season he has a 2.91 ERA, 1.13 WHIP, a .239 batting average against, and a 6.71 K/9. So the strikeouts may not dazzle you, but what a pitcher does after a couple of bad starts tells me a lot more than a bad start here or there. So what has Roark done in his past two starts? Pitched to a 1.29 ERA, with a WHIP under 1.00, and even raised his K/9 to 7.07. Granted, those starts did come against the Phillies and Brewers who have a lot of free swingers. But c'mon, he's rebounded nicely.
Last year, Roark had a 1.51 ERA, .91 WHIP, .197 batting average against, and 6.71 K/9 in a smaller sample size. Look familiar? That's almost exactly what he is doing this year! That's consistency for you.The guy even pitches for the Nationals which means he should get plenty of wins if he keeps pitching like this, and he is currently ranked 25th among all Yahoo starting pitchers. If you're not convinced by now you probably never will be. Go pick up Roark before it's too late!
