BALLER MOVE: Target ~ 140 (Current ADP: 160, WR: 51)
ANALYSIS: It's easy to see why Greg Jennings is ranked where he is this year, coming off of a "mediocre" year with 68 grabs for 804 yards and four touchdowns, but I'm here to convince you those numbers will improve by a decent margin. And as crazy as it may sound, the opening part of my argument revolves around Matt Cassel. Jennings caught 34 passes last season in the six games Cassel started, including three receptions for 92 yards and two touchdowns against Pittsburgh and eleven grabs for 163 yards and a TD against Philadelphia, but he only caught 34 in the other ten games. The main counterpoint to this is the fact that Teddy Bridgewater is waiting in the wings and may get an opportunity to start this season, but Jennings has started to develop some chemistry with Teddy too.
Playing with the emerging Cordarelle Patterson, Zach Rudolf and the freak of nature known as Adrian Peterson should open up space for Jennings to work the under routes and continue his role as security blanket for Cassel. Also, much is being made of the addition of Norv Turner as the offensive coordinator, and it's clear that his scheme can drastically help the vikings produce fantasy points. But Mike Zimmer is also a new member in Minnesota, and while he's a rookie head coach, he's notoriously great at getting the most out of his players, especially later in their career. Don't be surprised if Jennings ends up as a viable WR3 or Flex play in deeper leagues throughout the season.
