Thursday September 4th DFS Picks
P: Roenis Elias ($6,700): Elias will likely be under owned tonight but has been good of late. He has 41 strikeouts over his last 7 starts and had a solid outing a few weeks ago against the Rangers. Seattle also has a cupcake match-up against Scott Baker so Elias should be in line for the win. He will not pitch deep into the game, but for a low price should provide a solid option.
C: Yadier Molina ($2,800): With a weeks’ worth of games under his belt, Molina should be fully healthy and ready to produce. He has struggled the last two nights, but did have 6 hits in his first four games back. He has also had some career success against Wily Peralta which should only help him tonight.
1B: Chris Davis ($3,400): It is hard to recommend playing a player who is hitting under the Mendoza line, however Davis appears to have found his rhythm of late. He has hits in 4 straight games including a homerun last night. Tonight he faces the right handed Mike Leake which should give him another chance to go deep.
2B: Robinson Cano ($3,100): As I mentioned before, the Mariners have a great matchup tonight against Scott Baker. Baker has a 5.23 ERA on the year and only struck out 4 combined in his last two starts. Cano continues to be one of the most consistent fantasy players in the game and for a reduced price you will not find a better buy tonight.
SS: Danny Santana ($3,700): Santana just refuses to falter this season as he has become a revelation at the top of the Twins order. He is hitting .314 on the year and has hits in 4 straight games. Santana also has 2 homeruns and 9 RBI over the last two weeks so continue to ride his hot stretch tonight against the Angels.
3B: Kyle Seager ($3,100): Like Cano, Seager is a left handed bat you will need in your lineup tonight against Baker. Seager has mashed 21 homeruns and 84 RBI on the year. He also had back to back homeruns on Monday and Tuesday so he is clearly seeing the ball well. If you can’t already tell I am very high on a Mariners stack tonight.
OF: Michael Brantley ($3,500): Brantley should be the contrarian play today as he faces Max Scherzer. However, that match-up should be embraced as he is 14/41 with 9 RBI career against the Tigers flamethrower. He has failed to show his power off recently, but the all-around stud should provide a good night from a player who is likely to be under owned.
