ANALYSIS: Someone had to catch passes with Josh Gordon "gone for the year". That's in quotes because it seems that we may actually end up seeing Gordon in action this year. However, the person to stand up in his absence was none other than Andrew Hawkins. Hawkins was targeted a total of 10 times and hauled in 8 catches for 87 yards against the Steelers this past Sunday, making him the most recent addition to our waiver wire sleepers list. However this endorsement comes with a caveat as Hawkins played opposite of A.J. Green with the Bengals for his first few years, and never really turned into anything special. Hawkins also never has played a full 16 game season. But let's not forget, Hawkins was never really given the opportunity to start either, and tried to make the best of the playing time he was given. So why am I recommending him to be picked up off the waiver wire? Because even if Josh Gordon comes back, Hawkins could be a solid WR2 for the Browns and a nice lottery ticket for your fantasy football team bench. His career yards per reception of 11.5 suggest there is talent there when he makes catches, and if he sees some volume he could turn that into something special. The man known as "Little Hawk" is worth a stash at the very least in PPR formats, and deeper standard leagues, in case Week 1 wasn't just a fluke and he's here to stay all year.
