ANALYSIS: Mark Ingram was due for a breakout year this year. He was finally having it, and then he went and broke his hand on Sunday. Enter Khiry Robinson, who if you ask me, is Mark Ingram's more talented compliment. Khiry Robinson grades out as a more elusive running back than than the likes of Matt Forte or Reggie Bush, who are both household names in fantasy football. Yes, that number 3-4 overall draft pick Matt Forte. Given the way the Saints have been using their primary running backs this season, and the prolific opportunity that the Saints' offense yields for their RBs (or any primary option), Robinson makes his way onto our Week 3 waiver wire sleepers list.
Compliment with his elusiveness the fact that Mr. Robinson is 6'0" and weighs 220 lbs. He'll be hard for anyone to stop coming at them full speed. He should fill a roll similar to what Chris Ivory saw with the Saints back in the day, as a power running back, but I don't expect Robinson to see quite as many attempts as Ingram had been totaling the first two games. It may be close, but it's possible that Pierre Thomas and Tavaris Cadet can pickup some extra rushing attempts as well with Ingram out. I'd expect Robinson to have about 10-15 attempts per game, but with the aforementioned elusiveness he can make the most of those snaps. And getting the goal-line carries will always present opportunities for touchdowns within the explosive New Orleans offense. Grab Robinson off the Week 3 waiver wire before your opponents do, especially if you are running back needy because of all the injuries this past weekend.
