BALLER MOVE: Add in 14-Team Leagues, Monitor in Shallow Leagues
Owned in 27% of Fleaflicker Leagues
ANALYSIS: Niles Paul is available in 73% of Fleaflicker leagues right now, and if you read my Week 2 & 3 TE Waiver pickup articles, you would be aware that Paul was on the radar to make an impact in Week 2 with Jordan Reed out. Well, Reed was out and Paul showed up big time posting 8 catches, 99 yards and TD on 11 targets last week. I imagine that, given those numbers, people will grab him on waivers this week, but my advice would be to pump the brakes a bit.
Keep in mind Paul is the backup for Reed and as of right now Reed is categorized as day-to-day. Coach Jay Gruden said that in order for Reed to play he must practice this week, so I would monitor this situation closely. At this time, if you are in a league with a deep bench Paul is a nice waiver stash. If Reed is out, Paul has top 10 TE potential in Week 3. Otherwise I'd wait and monitor Reed's status. If Reed hasn't practiced by Saturday I'd recommend picking up Paul and streaming him for Week 3.
