John Brown (WR, ARI) - Waiver Wire Pickups

BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+team leagues

ANALYSIS: John Brown is a highly heralded rookie wide receiver for the Arizona Cardinals, and so far in three games played he has 3 TDs. Some people might say this makes him too touchdown dependent for his fantasy points, but he also is averaging 12.1 yards per reception in his early career. What does that mean? The Cardinals may have found one of their new favorite vertical threats. In fact, as I said in my warning signs article for week 1, I believe John Brown may eventually eat into some of Larry Fitzgerald's targets as Fitzgerald's career has begun to wind down.

This past week Brown had 6 targets to Fitzgerald's 7, but he made more of his targets count, gaining 52 yards and 2 touchdowns. That was worth a whopping 21.5 points in PPR leagues, which certainly makes him worth a flier. I'd be more gung ho on him if Carson Palmer didn't have a pinched nerve, but so far he seems to have pretty good chemistry with Drew Stanton. Next week Brown is on bye so don't add him if you need him just for this week, but this would be a good opportunity to try to get him without dipping too much into the FAAB bank.
