DFS Lineup Picks: DraftKings Week 8 Sleeper Picks & Advice

By Sgt. Kyle J. Richardson (DVIDS) [Public domain], via Wikimedia Commons

By Sgt. Kyle J. Richardson (DVIDS) [Public domain], via Wikimedia CommonsFinding value plays in fantasy football DFS leagues is always key in building a winning roster.  Usually I approach weekly cash games by rostering a cheaper QB, which then allows me to spend more on the other positions.

The same logic usually applies to tight ends and defenses. If you can save dollars when putting your DFS lineups together on these positions, you can spend bigger bucks on studs at the running back and wide receiver position.

There are many different DFS strategies, but these types of players can normally have bigger impacts for your lineups. With that being said, the following players are good for cash lineups or even when building your GPP lineups in Week 8.

Undervalued DraftKings Sleepers For Week 8

Quarterback Lineup Pick

Tony Romo - $7,400 - He has a good matchup against the Washington Redskins on Monday night. The Redskins defense only allows 219 pass yards per game, which is 7th best in the league, but it is the 2nd worst defense in terms of allowing fantasy points to quarterbacks. They allow about 21 fantasy points to quarterbacks. Dez Bryant and Terrance Williams are also good options, so let's just hope this game does not become a landslide too early.

Running Back Lineup Picks

Eddie Lacy - $5,200 - He is an absolute bargain this week at $5,200.  New Orleans is a juicy matchup and allows about 24 points to RBs for the season. Lacy has been inconsistent all year and James Starks is stealing some carries, but I see Lacy finding pay dirt in this one and he could get 100 rushing yards as well.

Jerick McKinnon - $4,900 - I am also a fan of his salary this week of $4,900 with a good matchup versus the Bucs. Tampa Bay features one of the worst rush defenses in the league, allowing 26 points to running backs and 128 rushing yards per game. McKinnon should catch a couple balls as well, which helps with the PPR scoring on DraftKings. His floor should be 10 fantasy points in Week 8.

Wide Receiver Lineups Picks

Michael Floyd - $4,900 - Carson Palmer is back at QB which boosts his value every week. He scored a TD in Carson's first game back, and that trend should continue against Philadelphia which should be a high scoring game. The Eagles allow 38 fantasy points to wide receivers, which is one of the worst in the league. I would expect a line similar to 6 catches and 70 receiving yards with a possible TD.

Doug Baldwin - $4,700 - He inherits the #1 wide receiver role with Percy Harvin now on the Jets. He took full advantage of his new role last week and posted 7 catches for 123 yards and 1 TD. The Panthers give up yards in boatloads, and I expect the Seahawks to make a statement versus Carolina in this one.  I would expect a similar line from Baldwin in this game, and he should be in most DFS lineups with that price tag.

Tight End Lineup Pick

Dwayne Allen - $3,900 - I really see no reason why he should be priced this low.  Allen has a knack for finding the end zone with 5 TDs on the year already. His stat line should be fairly predictable, as he is always in the 3-4 catch range with 45-50 yards and a possible TD.  Playing Allen at that minimum price will allow you to roster a more expensive running backs or wide receivers.

Defense Lineup Pick

Browns Defense - $2,700 - At the moment, I have the Browns rostered as my starting DFS defense for the week. Derek Carr is still a rookie, and still plays for the Raiders, which means he should turn the ball over. The Browns defense scored 8 fantasy points last week against Jacksonville, and I would expect a couple of sacks and turnovers from this defense in Week 8.
