BALLER MOVE: Add in Deeper Leagues (Bye Week Fill-In)
OWNED IN: 33% of Fleaflicker Leagues
ANALYSIS: This recommendation may not sit well with some of you, as Mark Sanchez does not bring great memories for fantasy owners. However I want you to hear me out: (1) There are 6 teams on bye week and finding available QBs is difficult; (2) The Eagles are playing the Carolina Panthers who have given up the 8th most fantasy points to opposing QBs (total passing defense ranked 18th); (3) The Eagles total offense is ranked 4th overall in the league; (4) Sanchez showed last week that he can hold his own in Chip Kelly's offense (202 yards, 2 TDS, 2 INTs in 3 quarters); (5) Nick Foles will be out for at least 6-8 weeks which means Sanchez will be the starter at least till week 16 (fantasy football championship week).
When Nick Foles sustained a crack to his left collarbone last week versus the Houston Texans, and Sanchez came into the game, offensive lineman Jason Peters didn't even know Foles was out of the game. Saying this after Sanchez connected with Jeremy Maclin on a 52 yard pass, “Actually, I didn’t even know Foles was out. Threw that bomb to Maclin and I turned around to congratulate him and it was Sanchez. I didn’t even know the guy was out until then. I started looking for him, but he went in for X-rays.” I would agree that Sanchez was not a great QB for the Jets however, Sanchez is in a QB friendly offense that will benefit him and fantasy owners. My advice would be to shed the previous memories and give Sanchez a chance off the Week 10 waiver wire if you need some QB help.
