Dylan Bundy (SP/RP, BAL) - 2015 Fantasy Baseball Sleeper

BALLER MOVE: Target Late in Keeper or Dynasty Leagues

ANALYSIS: Selected out of high school, Dylan Bundy was seen as MLB ready, and proved to be so by dominating the minors in 2012. Over 103.2 innings between Single-A and Double-A, he struck out 119 batters and walked only 28, with a 0.92 WHIP and a 2.08 ERA. Unfortunately, he missed the entire 2013 season due to Tommy John surgery. In 2014, after breezing through Low-A, Bundy had somewhat disappointing numbers, with a 4.78 over 26.1 IP in High-A. His lingering injury was likely the cause for his control issues, but he now claims to have his full arm strength back for the 2015 season.

In 2014, Bundy lost about five mph on his fastball and he struggled with command, but one would expect his velocity and movement to return in 2015, two years removed from Tommy John surgery. Bundy will likely find himself in the Orioles’ bullpen later this year, but by 2016, he should be a permanent rotation fixture and has the upside of a true ace. It is important to keep an eye on Bundy’s continued recovery to make sure he has regained his pre-injury form. Now is the time to buy low on him in a dynasty or keeper league.
