ANALYSIS: Anyone watching the Thunder game against the Clippers on Sunday saw two things. First, Mitch McGary showed why he was considered a lottery pick before a back injury/failed marijuana test changed that with 19 points and 10 boards (5 offensive) in 23 minutes filling in for a suspended Kendrick Perkins. Second, Steven Adams sank a free throw with his left hand. Unfortunately, this was because Adams' right hand was hurt. Bad enough for him to be sent home for examinations. Since Perk should probably spend as little time on the court as possible anyway and Nick Collison can only be expected to do so much, there's a void that needs to be filled. Enter McGary. Though his stats aren't going to be as big as they were on Sunday on a regular basis, he will definitely find ways to make his mark on the box score most nights especially on the boards. The man could end up being a huge pick up for the second half of the season considering the numbers that Oklahoma City puts up night to night, yet its just as likely his back will flare up again in a few games. Definitely a name to watch but only to pick up if you're feeling lucky.
