NBA DFS Lineup Picks & Sleepers - FanDuel Advice for 2/21

All throughout the 2014-15 NBA campaign, RotoBaller will be analyzing the top NBA DFS lineup picks and providing our expert advice for the best sleepers at the guard, forward and center positions. Below are our favorite FanDuel DFS picks for February 21st, 2015.

Worth the Investment

Pau Gasol (CHI, PF) - $9,700

It would be easy to think that because of his age, Gasol would be fatigued playing on the tail end of a back-to-back.  Interestingly enough however, the ageless Spaniard has been more productive across the board this season in the second game of consecutive games.  He played 31 minutes last night so there is room to see more time.  And at the very least, the Phoenix style of play always for ample opportunities that accentuate Gasol’s strengths at the four position.  Play him with confidence.

Jimmy Butler (CHI, SG) - $8,800

The other half of Chicago’s two-headed monster, Butler also plays extremely well and is quite productive in second games of back-to-backs.  Butler may see a decrease in points as compared to his season average, but his rebounds and assists (6.0 and 3.6 per game averages, respectively) improve in those second-nighters.  Of course, playing the offensive friendly Suns also helps.  Phoenix has allowed the third most FDPPG to opposing two guards over the last ten games.

Luol Deng (MIA, SF) - $5,900

Clearly Deng comes with some baggage.  He played 34 minutes Friday night and he typically does not put up eye-popping numbers in consecutive games.  However with Chris Bosh out indefinitely and Dwyane Wade working his way back from injury, the Heat are in dire need of some offense.  Deng is obviously the one they will lean on until Wade shows he is 100%.  Luckily, Deng’s price is not overly expensive for what he brings to the table.

Mo Williams (CHA, PG) - $5,400

Anyone can deduce that the recent acquisition of Mo shows the Hornets are not happy with the play of Brian Roberts and it should come as no surprise if Williams starts on Saturday night.  Though it typically takes guys two or three games before they can adapt to their new surroundings, the Hornet offense is not overly complicated and Williams is more of a scoring point guard anyway.  Oklahoma City has been somewhat stifling against opposing point guards, but Williams poses enough offensive creative to take advantage of his minutes.

If you have enough money to spend, consider Kyle Lowry (TOR, $7,800) at point guard.  He has struggled for the better half of three weeks, but the matchup with Houston is too juicy to pass up.  Lowry only played 25 minutes on Friday night, so he should be fresh.

Top Sleeper

Spencer Hawes (LAC, C) - $3,800

Shortly before the All Star Break, a lot of FanDuel players jumped on the Hawes train and then immediately jumped off after he had a stinker of a game against Dallas.  Experienced players knew that it was mainly because the Clippers went with a shorter lineup for most of the game but it was still a cause for concern.  Against the Kings, expect the Clippers to employ Hawes more as Sacramento has been quite forgiving to opposing big men for most of the season.
