Steve Pearce (1B / OF, BAL) - 2015 Fantasy Baseball Sleeper

BALLER MOVE: Target Mid to Late in All Leagues

ANALYSIS: Steve Pearce took a while to push himself on to the scene of fantasy relevance. A long and winding path led him to the Baltimore Orioles, where he quietly hit 21 homers and added a .293 batting average in 102 games last year. With the departure of Nelson Cruz, Pearce has become one of very few power sources for the 2015 Orioles lineup.

Pearce has shown that he can hit for both average and power. The best news of all is that his numbers this spring are supporting that trend. We all know that spring training numbers can be misleading, but Pearce is hitting a solid .355 with four home runs and only one strikeout so far down south. With the opportunity to play a full season and the job security he’s always wanted, Pearce should be a very serviceable third outfielder, corner infielder, or utility man with major upside.
