Mike Minor will have surgery on his pitching shoulder and will miss the rest of the 2015 season, according to Scout.com.
The Atlanta Braves’ left-hander’s season never started because he was dealing with shoulder issues in the middle of spring training. The surgery for Minor is unknown but likely that he won’t make a single pitch in the MLB for 2015.
The 27-year-old dealt with shoulder issues last season that forced him to miss some time. Minor went 6-12 with a 4.77 ERA last season after a 13-9, 3.21 ERA season the year before. His bad season could have been due to the shoulder issues.
In the source.com report, it stated that there’s a chance Minor's Braves' career could be over. Atlanta might non-tender him rather than go to arbitration with him again after he earned $5.6 million this season.
Minor was placed on the 60-day DL a few days ago, but now the Braves know they will be without him, maybe for good.
