Joey Gallo’s MLB debut was one to remember for the Texas Rangers. The rookie third basemen went 3-for-4 with a homer and four RBI.
With the absence of Adrian Beltre, the 21-year-old stepped right in and delivered. Gallo did his part in helping the Rangers defeating the Chicago Sox 15-2 on Tuesday.
In the span of one game, the rookie has become a must-add in all fantasy leagues. With an aging Beltre on the DL and out for at least two weeks, Gallo will at least be in the lineup most days until Beltre’s return from a thumb injury.
Gallo is the top prospect for Texas, and it was perfect timing to call up the youngster. In 34 games this season for Double-A, he had a .314 BA, 9 HR and 31 RBI. He’s red-hot and could help this Rangers team to turn around their season and get back into contention for the AL West.
