Lance Lynn had a lights out performance Tuesday against the Milwaukee Brewers in a 1-0 victory. The St. Louis Cardinals pitcher tossed 7 2/3 scoreless innings over their division rivals. Lynn (4-4, 3.03 ERA) scattered five hits and one walk in the victory.
The right-hander now has a 1.29 WHIP and 72/22 K/BB ratio over 78 1/3 innings of work this year. Last time he pitched against the Brew Crew, he allowed six runs in five innings of work for the loss. This was Lynn’s third meeting against Milwaukee this season, now 2-1 in 2015.
Lynn pitched six innings of two-run ball for a no decision against the Diamondbacks in his last start. He has been superb in most of his starts this year, but three of those have been a struggle. In each of those three starts, he allowed at least five runs.
St. Louis is now 34-18 while the Brewers are 18-35. The 28-year-old will take on the Dodgers in Los Angeles on Sunday.
