ANALYSIS:  If you had a opportunity to pickup a starting pitcher on the waiver with an ERA of 2.11 and WHIP of 1.04 on the season would you do it? 10 times out of 10 I imagine you would.  Currently there is a such a player on numerous leagues and his name is Jesse Chavez.  In the past two games Chavez has pitched he's gone 8 innings each with 0 earned runs versus the Yankees & Tigers.  So why haven't fantasy owners paid attention to him?  If I were to guess it would be his win loss record which is 2-5.  The reason for that record is Chavez gets no run support.  In the 59 innings Chavez has pitched he ranks 108th in run support with an average of 1.368.  I don't anticipate this will continue throughout the season so don't focus only on the win loss record.

Don't expect him to keep the sparkling stats he currently has but Chavez will still hold fantasy value the remainder of the season.  Fantasy projections have him at the end of the season with a 3.60 ERA and 1.23 WHIP at a nearly .500 record.  If you are looking for a starting pitcher with solid all around production, Jesses Chavez is definitely worth considering and adding on your fantasy team.
